I am a firm believer that outdated charts could be hazardous. Exspecially VFR Charts. Cell phone towers and other stuctures are being built everyday, even though these towers are at low level. they are depicted on current carts. In perfect conditions this most likely wouldn't be a problem, but in some cases when a pilot pushes the envelope a little too much when weather sets in on him a tower such as this could be life threatening. I believe a lot of private certificate holders take a lot of things for granted {Not degrading Private cert pilots, because I'm one myself} But I believe it's important to keep curent charts on hand when making cross country flights.
